After impressing the audience with his role of a policeman in his last release Kahaani 2, Arjun Rampal has come up with a rather unexpected role in his recent movie Daddy where he essays the role of gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli.
The movie, which was released on 1000 screens across the country, it witnessed ann average of 20 percent occupancy in the theatres in both multiplexes and single screens.
Although, Daddy got a mixed review from the audience and critics, it was Arjun Rampal who carried the movie on his shoulder. Besides, without any major starcast, the movie has managed to get a decent opening at the box office because of its story line.
If the media reports are to be believed, the movie is expected to make a collection of Rs 3-5 crore on its day of release.
Interestingly, Daddy has witnessed a box office clash with Sunny Deol's Poster Boys who too witnessed a dismal opening at the box office.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh, took it to micro-blogging site Twitter to share the box office report of both Daddy and Poster Boys and tweeted, "BO following similar pattern for *most* new films... Fri morning/noon = lukewarm... Biz picks up towards evening if film rich in merits... This Friday is no exception... #PosterBoys, #Daddy, other new films start slow... Here's hoping there's a +ve turnaround before day ends."

It is being reported that a good word of mouth might to wonders for Daddy and escalate its business in the opening weekend. We wonder if this Arjun Rampal starrer be able to score anything near the collections of last week release Baadshaho or Shubh
