New Delhi:

Filmmaker Prakash Jhan has voiced his opinions on the much touted nepotism controversy and asserted that talent should be respected in all forms irrespective of the gender.

His statement came in wake of the on going 'nepotism rocks' debate which was instigated during the 18th edition of IIFA awards held in New York lately by Karan Johar, Saif Ali Khan and Varun Dhawan.

The trio had taken a jibe at actress Kangana Ranaut by bringing up the nepotism debate.

Talking about the same Prakash Jha stated, "Whose view on nepotism can be good? Any proper-thinking person's views will not be good. Talent should be respected, especially for other gender. You get respect when you respect others."

Notably, this fresh controversy did invite a lot of criticism for KJo, Varun and Saif. However, Varun later apologised on micro-blogging site Twitter. On the other hand, Karan too clarified that it's talent that rocks and not nepotism.

Prakash Jha also spoke about the censorship issues regarding his upcoming movie 'Lipstick Under My Burkha' and said that he is against scissoring content.

"Why do we need these shackles? There is no need of censor board. You can specify what the content is and the certification but there is no need of censoring," he added.

'Lipstick Under My Burkha' struggled for certification from the Central Board of Film Certification earlier this year.

Starring Konkona Sen Sharma, Aahana Kumra and Ratna Pathak in key roles, 'Lipstick Under My Burkha' is slated to release on Juyl 21.
