The much awaited Sachin: A Billion Dreams received a very good response on the first day. The film is great watch for even the non-cricket lovers. The film earned Rs 9.20 crores on Saturday, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
Sachin: A Billion Dreams released in Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and English. In all the languages the film has earned a total of Rs 17.60 crores, according to Adarsh. "FANTASTIC for a docu-drama," he tweeted.
The film is directed by James Erskine. It tells Sachin's journey from an aspiring cricketer to one of the best batsman. In the movie, real footage of some clips from Sachin Tendulakr's matches, interviews with colleagues and family and cricketers Virat Kohli and M S Dhoni.
Before the movie's release, the special screening of the film in Mumbai was hosted by Sachin. The screening was attended by Bollywood celebrities and the Indian cricket team.
