Veteran actress Sridevi's death has left a deep void not just in the lives of her family members but also in the Bollywood industry.
Her upcoming movie Shiddat, which was being produced by Karan Johar, was also delayed with the diva's untimely death. But looks like KJo is gradually bringing his production back on track now as the makers have found a replacement for the veteran actress.
According to reports, veteran actress Madhuri Dixit will be replacing Sridevi in the movie which will be helmed by Abhishek Varman.
The news was confirmed by Sridevi's daughter Janhvi Kapoor, who shared the news on social media expressing her gratitude towards Madhuri for taking up Shiddat.
Janhvi shared a picture of Madhuri and Sridevi and wrote, "Dad, Khushi and I are thankful to Madhuriji for now being a part of this beautiful film."
Notably, Sridevi had lately begun her second innings in the industry with Gauri Shinde's English Vinglish and was said to hit the silver screens with Karan Johar's production Shiddat. But her untimely death did come as a jolt for the movie as well.
Interestingly, if things had gone well, Sridevi would have collaborated with Dutt after a hiatus of 25 years. The two had last shared the screens in 1993 release Gumrah.
However, destiny had some other plans and now Madhuri has been roped in for Shiddat.
On a related, Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit, who were once said to be in a relationship, haven't worked together since 1997 release Mahaanta.
It will be interesting to see if Karan Johar will retain the same cast or will there be some more replacements before Shiddat hits the floors.
