The much-awaited trailer of Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh is out and it will surely keep you at the edge of your seat.
Shahid Kapoor plays the role of a surgeon turned jilted lover and who is only a self destructive mode and suffers from anger management issues. The teaser shows Shahid Kapoor smoking, snorting cocaine, storing liquor and using the ugliest abuses when someone rubs him off wrong.
The film is a remake of Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy and also stars Kiara Advani in the lead role.
In an earlier interview, Shahid had said that recreating a film which is still fresh in people’s minds is a demanding job. "Creating a remake is damn tough. You have loved it for what it was but you can't go out there and copy it. It has to be a rediscovery," he told a news agency.
"The original was Arjun Reddy, based in Hyderabad and Bangalore. This is Kabir Singh, which is based in Delhi and Mumbai. May be Arjun and Kabir are cousins but they are not the same person. My journey is only to find Kabir Singh," he had said.
This will not be the first time that Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani have joined hands for a project. Both the actor has been a part of the remix cover of the classic 90s song Urvashi which became a huge chartbuster.
Kiara will be seen playing the role of Preet and Shahid’s love interest who is completely different in character from him.
The trailer opens with Shahid as Kabir asking for a girl's phone number from fellow doctor colleague. In the later part of the trailer we see him in a self destructive mode indulding in living life at fag's end with heavy drinking and smoking. In afkash back we get to know about his love story with Kiara who appears to be a timid student but much in love with Shahid's character Kabir. Without divulging much about what lead to their break up, we see Kabir diving into self-dammnation. The trailer ends with an epic dialogue, "I am not a rebel without a cause."

The film is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga who also helmed Arjun Reddy. Shahid has stepped into the shoes of Vijay Deverakonda perfectly and the teaser shows what a talented actor he is from the current generation. The film is slated to hit the screens on June 21, 2019.
