New Delhi:

On the 71st Independence Day, a Facebook post of an assistant teacher at an Assam school, his colleague and two students hoisting Indian flag in the flooded school premises in Dhubri district's Fakirganj has gone viral.

The photograp has been uploaded  by Naskara LP School assistant teacher Mizanur Rahman where he has written, "We hoisted the tricolour and sang the national anthem as we are proud to observe the freedom of our nation," he said.

His post also added, "No need to tell how we are right now, picture will tell all the stories... I did not expect this kind of support... thank you all for sharing this picture."

This shows that flood did not deter people from taking part in the Independence Day celebrations. Despite water all over the place people took the risk and kept their spirit high and hoisted flag in the best way possible which cannot be ignored and go un-noticed.

While there are also photos of students saluting the flags standing in boats doing rounds.

On Monday, PMr Narendra Modi spoke to Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal for the second time and said all possible support is being provided to the state.

The Prime Minister said the Central government has been closely and constantly monitoring the flood situation in Assam.

"PM @narendramodi spoke to Assam CM @sarbanandsonwal on Sunday and Monday regarding the flood situation in the state," the PMO tweeted.

"All possible support is being provided to Assam for overcoming the flood situation prevailing in parts of the state," Modi said.
