New Delhi:

The Cabinet approved Noida-Greater Noida Metro corridor which is to be built at a cost of Rs 5,503 crore, said Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday.

Announcing the Cabinet decision, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said the length of the metro corridor will be 29.70 km which will be fully elevated. The project is scheduled to be completed by April next year.

Currently, Delhi Metro is serving Delhi and its satellite cities of Faridabad, Gurgaon, Noida and Ghaziabad in National Capital Region in India.

With the completion of Phase I, Phase II and the beginning of operations on Phase III, the Delhi Metro network comprises five coloured lines (plus the Airport Express line), serving 154 metro stations (with 6 more stations on the Airport Express line, for a total of 160), and operating on a total route length of 213 kilometres.
