Kumar, former SC/ST Welfare and Women and Child Development Minister in the Delhi government, was seen campaigning door-to-door on Sunday for Savita Khatri, BJP candidate from Narela.
“I am campaigning for Savita Khatri, BJP candidate from Narela and would campaign for all friends from BJP, BSP or Congress,” Kumar told a news channel.
However, the BJP has made it clear that the party did not invited him to campaign. "BJP never invited him for campaign. BJP Office Bearers & Karyakartas sent him back from rally venue in few seconds," said Delhi BJP spokesperson Tajinder Pal S Bagga.

On September 3, Kumar was arrested after a woman approached Sultanpuri police station in North Delhi and complained of sexual harassment against him, following a case was filed. An objectionable video with that woman had emerged.
On August 31, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal sacked the MLA from Sultanpur Majra from AAP after the CD row. On November 7, 2016, a Delhi court granted bail to Kumar.
