New Delhi:

An Indian Air Force advanced trainer jet crashed near the Odisha-Jharkhand border district on Tuesday. The trainee pilot helming the plane ejected but sustained some injuries.

The pilot of the plane was taken to the nearby state headquarter hospital in Jharkhand.

According to reports, the aircraft crashed at Subarnarekha’s Topa ghat area of Mahuldangiri village of Baripada.

As per sources, the aircraft took off from Kalaikunda Air Force Station from neighboring West Bengal and some locals at Rairangpur claimed to have spotted smoke coming out of the plane.
