New Delhi:
Pakistan on Friday violated ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir and recieved a strong and effective retaliation by the Indian Army.
"Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked firing on Indian Army posts in Sunderbani sector at around 1805h today. In the fire exchange, Rifleman Jayadrath Singh was grievously injured and succumbed to his injuries.", Army said in a statement.
Rifleman Jayadrath Singh aged 28 years, belonged to Village Bhagwanpur in Uttar Pradesh and is survived by his wife Smt Mamta Devi.

"Rifleman Jayadrath Singh was a brave and sincere soldier. The nation will always remain indebted to him for the supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty.", the statement said.
Earlier on Friday, Pakistani troops violated ceasefire along the Line of Control in Naugam sector and it was for the third consecutive day and in Keran sector. But no casualties were reported.
