The body was kept in the mortuary for the post-mortem as the woman died of food poisoning.

The relatives of the woman admitted her on Saturday but she died while undergoing treatment. Later, the dead body was shifted to the hospital’s mortuary.

Following the irresponsible behaviour by the mortuary staff, the supervisor, ward boy and mortuary guard have been suspended. The matter is now under investigation.

Stringent action will be taken against the staff for their recklessness and the guilty will not be spared, Director of the hospital Devendra Singh Negi said.
