New Delhi:

Madras High Court on Wednesday extended the stay order on floor test in Tamil Nadu Assembly until further orders.

In a major relief to Dhinkaram Sasikala camp, the court also directed the state to not hold any elections on the seats of 18 disqualified AIADMK MLAs.

However, there was no stay of disqualification. Next hearing of the case will be held on October 4.

The Speaker of Tamil Nadu assembly disqualified 18 AIADMK MLAs under the anti-defection law. The MLAs had pledged their support to Dhinakaran-Sasikala camp and filed a no-confidence motion against state government led by E Palaniswami.
