New Delhi:
The country is witnessing significant increase in H1N1 cases and almost 1,100 people have already succumbed to the virus attack so far. As per the health ministry data, a total of 22,186 cases have been reported across the country.
With so much of cases coming to the fore, a major outbreak can be confirmed. The states of Maharashtra and Gujarat remains to be worst affected in the country.
A total of 488 people have died in Maharashtra and 343 succumbed to virus attack in Gujarat so far.
Maharashtra has contributed to more than 45 per cent of all H1N1 casualties and one-fourth of the confirmed cases since January.
As per the reports of the National Centre for Disease Control, AIIMS in Delhi and Pune's National Institute of Virology, the H1N1 strain is different this year as compared to the last year.
As per the data, most deaths were observed in the working age-group of 25-50 years.
