New Delhi:

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday has registered a case against nine persons from Karnataka and Kerala for their alleged involvement in forcible conversion of a Gujarat-base woman and attempting to sell her off to ISIS terrorists in Saudi Arabia.

NIA spokesperson said, “We have registered a case against nine following a complaint by 25-year-old woman. She had alleged that one Muhammad Riyas Rasheed had taken objectionable pictures of her and had confined her.”

“The accused had forged documents to marry the victim and later forced her to convert to Islam,” said NIA.

According to NIA, Rasheed had illegally confined and threatened her in Kerala before taking her to Saudi Arabia in 2017 to join the international terror group.
