The much-awaited verdict in the Nirbhaya gang rape case is expected to be pronounced by the Supreme Court on Friday.

The four accused - Akshay, Pawan, Vinay Sharma and Mukesh had filed a petition in the apext court challenging the Delhi High Court’s verdict of capital punishment.

The case is being heard by the apex court bench headed by Justice Dipak Misra and consisting of Justices R. Banumathi and Ashok Bhushan.

Talking about the verdict, which is yet to be pronounced by the Supreme Court, it is expected that the accused won’t be getting any relief, as Justice Dipak Misra is considered to be highly sensitive towards women.

Six people gang raped the 23-year-old Nirbhaya in a moving bus on December 16, 2012. Later, she was succumbed to injuries at a hospital in Singapore.

Ram Singh, the main accused in this case had already committed in suicide by hanging himself in the prison. The sixth accused, who was a juvenile had been ordered by the court to serve three years in a reform house.
