Shravana Putrada Ekadashi 2017 is being celebrated across the country on August 3 while Parana time is falling next day. Putrada Ekadashi is celebrated twice a year, on the 11th lunar day (Ekadashi) of the fortnight of Shukla Paksha while the other falls in the month of July-August, called Shravana Putrada Ekadashi while the other Ekadashi falls during Paush Shukla Paksha in December or January, according to the English Gregorian calendar.
The Hindu Holy day celebrated in honour of Lord Vishnu. It holds a very important and significant place amidst the devotees. During Ekadashi husband and wife observe fast for 24 hours to beget a male child.
Shravana Putrada Ekadashi‬ also known as Pavitra Ekadashi is religiously commemorated with proper Vrat Puja Vidhi carried on. Vaishnavas also hear Pavitra Ekadashi Vrat Katha Dedicated to Lord Vishnu on the day.
