New Delhi:

The Delhi High Court on Thursday dismissed petition submitted by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, demanding court-monitored probe and re-investigation by Delhi police in Sunanda Pushkar case.

High Court said that Swamy appears to have concealed data or information which he should have disclosed at the first instance.

The court also said that it is left with distinct impression that this is perhaps a textbook example of "political interest litigation" being dressed up as PIL

Central government and Delhi Police told HC that they don't, subscribe to the view expressed by Swamy that probe in the case has been influenced by Shashi Tharoor.

On July 6, Swamy, filed PIL in Delhi High Court in Sunanda Pushkar case. Swamy sought court-monitored probe and re-investigation by Delhi police

Sunanda, the wife of Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, was found dead in a suite of a five-star hotel in South Delhi on the night of January 17, 2014. A year later, a murder case was registered.

Earlier, the new medical board submitted its report on Sunanda Pushkar’s death. It said that the cause of her death is inconclusive. The report was given to Delhi Police's SIT.

This board was constituted in March 2016. It was set up on instructions of director general health services. It was formed when then Commissioner of Police BS Bassi said AIIMS had failed to reach conclusion.

AIIMS autopsy department also could not find the reason behind Sunanda's death on November 15, FBI had said Sunanda's death is unnatural but ruled out radioactive poisoning.
