Uttar Pradesh (UP) Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has demanded Rs 893 crore from the Centre in a bid to recover the flood-affected area.

Around 24 districts were affected by the flood. 

The Centre has also appointed a team to scrutinize the flood affected area of UP. The team will be spearheaded by the joint secretary of the Home ministry, Saheli Ghosh.

Before giving any fund, the team which is formed by the Centre will assess the conditions of the 24 districts including Balrampur, Barabanki, Basti, Deoria.

At least 99 people were killed when flood created havoc like condition in the state with the highest poulation in India. To recover from the devastation created by the Flood in the 24 district, Yogi Adityanath asked Centre for Rs 893 crore.

Thousands of people have taken shelter in the relief camps as rivers including Ghaghara, Rapti, Quano, Kunhara, Rohin and Burhi Rapti are in spate and have inundated vast areas in Lakhimpur Khiri, Barabanki, Faizabad, Ballia, Gorakhpur, and Siddharthnagar.
