Curfew has been extended in parts of Jaipur on Sunday. It was imposed following the mob rampage over death of one person in police firing in Ramganj area.

Curfew has been imposed in Ramganj, Manak Chowk, Galta Gate, Subhash Chowk. It has been extended by 24 hours.

The internet services remain to be suspended till 12 AM on September 11. The curfew will be imposed till 4 AM on Monday.

Drones have also been deployed to keep a constant vigil of the area. Stones and bricks were seen accumulated on almost 60 houses.

At present, the situation is under control. Heavy police deployment can be seen in the area.

The incident took place after a constable allegedly assaulted a couple which aggravated the mob, police said on Saturday.

Following the incident, curfew was imposed and Internet services were suspended in at least four police station areas, a senior police official said. As a precautionary measure, schools were also asked to shut down in the curfew-laden areas.
