New Delhi:

After Jyotiraditya Scindia quit Congress, 19 MLAs loyal to him also tendered their resignations from Madhya Pradesh Assembly on Tuesday. Earlier, Scindia, accompanied by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi.

The resignation of 19 MLAs has reduced the number of Congress legislators in the 230-member House in Madhya Pradesh to 95 from the current 114. As two seats are already vacant in MP, the revised strength of the Assembly stands at 209 with the magic figure to form government coming down to 105.

The Kamal Nath government was earlier supported by two legislators of the BSP, one of the SP one and four Independents.
