In the ongoing ‘ Operation All Out ’ in Kashmir Valley, over 160 militants have been killed and dozens of militant hideouts have been busted. Resultantly, the operations have resulted into shortage of arms and ammunition for militant outfits in the valley.
Pakistan seems to have adopted a new strategy to send arms and ammunition to militants in the valley from across the border. The last three incidents of the past two weeks signal something bigger conspiracy. Security forces have recovered ammunition lying next to the border near the Line of Control. Security forces say those ammunition have possibly been thrown out by Pakistan across the border for the militant groups. It shows how Pakistan is trying to infiltrate dumping weapons near the Line of Control and returning to their launch pads across the border.

Following this revelation, strict monitoring is also being done to ensure the movement of civilians living in the areas adjacent to the Line of Control as there is a possibility that militant sympathizers can travel as common people or shepherds to pick up weapons. In the last one week, large arms consignments, including modern weapons, have been caught from the areas close to borders in Baramulla and Kupwara in North Kashmir.
SSP Bermulla Abdul Qayyum says that militants may have their own plan of sending weapons to the valley, but the borders are tightly secured and have not allowed even a single infiltration in the last one and half year. This shows that militants are fighting weapon crisis here. Now they are looking for different options to send across ammunition like drone route and other ways. Pakistan is also using drone services to poach weapons in Jammu and Kashmir. Security forces have recovered two drones with weapons. Efforts are being made by Pakistan to transport arms on this side from Jammu and Rajouri side of Line of Control. A truck carrying huge amount of arms and ammunition was caught near Jawahar Tunnel in Kulgam in South Kashmir. A large number of militants have been killed in the ongoing operation. In the result, terror organization is trying to recruiting new youths. But with no ammunition, all their efforts go into vain.

DIG South Kashmir Atul Goyal says that the number of new youth joining the terrorist organizations has been reduced significantly, but in last two months, there has been slightly increase in recruitment for terror outfits. Significantly, security forces have carried out successful anti-terror operations in the Kashmir Valley this year and so far around 160 militants have been killed including 28 commanders from various outfits. Total 56 militant hideouts in Jammu and Kashmir have been busted. Over 113 OGW’s were arrested in this year which helped security forces break the network.
