On December 23, Rizwan Pehelwan, a Pakistan based photographer had a ‘big-fat wedding’, but on a pocket-friendly budget. Capping the budget at 20,000 Pakistani rupees (approx. Rs 10,000), he still managed to pull of the celebration filled with razzmatazz and pomp. Yes, you read it right!
He took to his social media account to share his delightful experience. He wrote, ''Guys shaadi season hai so here's my wedding story in a thread so you guys know that having apni marzi ki shaadi is possible. My guest list had 25 names: friends and parents. The venue was my terrace. The menu was chicken tikka, seekh kabab, pathooray chanay halwa strawberries.''

My guest list had 25 names: friends and parents. The venue was my terrace. The menu was chicken tikka, seekh kabab, pathooray chanay halwa strawberries.
With just 25 guests on the list, close family and friends, and most importantly lip-smacking food, Rizwan and his partner had the wedding of their dreams on the terrace of their home. He describes how the food was organised for the wedding. He tweeted, ''I set my max budget at Rs. 20,000. A friend lent his cooks, I bought the chicken and masalay from that money and helped prepare it all. Wife cooked khattay alu as a starter. Dad bought fairy lights n put them up on the terrace.’’

Many twitterati agreed to his philosophy and congratulated him for pulling off a simple yet heartwarming wedding.‘Happiness is all that matters. Everything else is secondary’ said a user, while ‘this is inspiring’ commented another user. Wedding means spending time with your close friends and family along with fun and excitement, and this one was an affirmation of that.Â
