Indian Wells Masters: Yuki Bhambri stuns 9th seed Lucas Poullie in straights sets to enter third round

Yuki Bhambri, India’s top-ranked singles tennis player, stuns 9th seed Lucas Poullie in straights sets to enter third round. Yuki sailed to a comfortable 6-4,6-4 win over his much higher ranked  French opponent. Perhaps the biggest career win for the Indian tennis Professional.

Yuki had upset Nicolas Mahut in the opening round to register his maiden win at an ATP Masters 1000 tournament with 7-5, 6-3 in the first round of the ATP Indian Wells tennis tournament on Friday. He shall now take on American Sam Querrey in the third round for a place in the pre quarterfinal.

In order to qualify for this tournament, he had to beat compatriot Ramkumar Ramanathan in the final round of the qualifying stages after first beating Dennis Novikov.

Yuki Bhambri will now face ninth-seed Lucas Pouille in the second round.
