New Delhi :

After meeting Vladimir Putin at an Asia-Pacific summit in Vietnam, Donald Trump has said that Russian President “feels insulted” by the US election meddling claims.

“He said he absolutely did not meddle in our election,” the US President Trump said.

The US intelligence community has alleged that Russia tried to meddle in the 2016 US president elections and sway the poll in favor of Donald Trump.

After the conclusion of intelligence community, US department of Justice appointed Robert Mueller as special investigator to probe any possible illegal cooperation between Trump’s team and Russia.

The CIA and other intelligence community had concluded that Russia was behind the hacking of Democratic National Committee in 2016 US presidential polls.

However, Trump has not acknowledged the assessment and gone against the findings of his own government’s intelligence agencies.

Trump defeated his Democratic opponent Hilary Clinton in last year’s Presidential elections and succeeded Barack Obama for the top job.

Both, the US and Russia have been alleging each other of meddling in their elections and relations between the two rivals have been strained.

When President Trump was asked if he believed Putin or not he said, “He is very, very strong in the fact that he didn’t do it. You have President Putin very strongly, vehemently says he has nothing to do with that. Now, you are not going to get into an argument, you are going to start talking about Syria and the Ukraine.”
