New Delhi:

Superstar Salman Khan is outspoken, a frank human being and is afraid of nobody. The Bollywood's bhaijaan is all set to entertain the audiences with his first release of this year Bharat on June 5. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film also stars Tabu, Disha Patani, Sunil Grover and Jackie Shroff. It traces India’s post-independence history from the perspective of a common man and follows his life from the range of 18 to 70 years of age, as a journey.

Salman Khan will sport five different looks in the film. In an interview India Today, he was asked how he decided his look in the film and the actor said, "Basically all my cousin's all they have the same look. So, most of them in Indore, they had salt-and-pepper look. They all have the same look. From my dad's brother-in-law to that whole family, we call them bhaiya ji. Everyone of my cousin's have that same look."

On the occasion, Salman further went on to reveal that how he prepared for his role in Bharat and how he took inspiration from his own journey in the Hindi film industry to play his role in the film.

“I had to prepare mentally more for Bharat. I looked back to the time when I started doing films, then how I changed after 20 years of starting my career. I revisited films and interviews of that time. I laughed at myself, I felt the cringe element also - I shouldn't have done that. I learnt from my journey. I reduced weight for Sultan (2016). In Bharat, I had to reduce weight for every decade. Also, the film involves a lot of action and thrill so that also required a lot of hard work,” he was quoted as saying by India Today.

Previously, it was revealed that Salman Khan devoted 2.5 hours before the shoot to get into his salt and pepper look for the film. Also, Katrina had devoted as many as 2 hours to get her middle-aged look right.

It is to be noted that Bharat is produced by Atul Agnihotri, Alvira Agnihotri, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar under the banner of Reel Life Production Pvt Ltd. and Salman Khan Films, presented by T-Series.
